Can I feed tropical fish flakes to my goldfish?
When I bought something, I think it was a pack of filters or something, they gave me a packet of tropical fish flakes. It's only enough for one or two feedings, I just hate to see it go to waste if I could use it. I'm just wondering if I could give it to them? Or should I just toss it out?
Where have these little snails appeared in my tropical fish tank?
I have been away for a week and my tank has about 10 of these little snails crawling around the glass of the tank. I have plastic plants as well as live ones in the tank which has now been running for about 4 weeks.? Are they safe to stay with my fish?Thanks, but I am interested in where they came from? Would they have been attached to the plants and if so, what form would they have been as I didnt notice anything on the plants when I got them?
How often should I change the water in my tropical fish tank?
I have had it running now for about 4 weeks. After a couple of fish died, I did a 50 % water change, followed by 2 x 25 % water changes 2 days apart, and no more fish have died. I have also added liquid to make the tap water safe for my fish. How often should I change the water in my tank, and what percentage is recommended each time?
6 questions about guppies and mollies & other tropical fish (and fry), like what kind of fish go well w/ them?
I bought a new aquarium 90 liters, 25 gallons and 1 I was wondering what kind of fish you recommend met getting? I'd like pretty easy fish. I've had fish before but I've never had baby fish before and I read that guppies and mollies have fry easily and I think they're very cute looking. 2 What kind of fish would go well with them? 3 And should I get a guppy female that is bigger or smaller than the male? 4 Same with all fish actually, do I want to look for the biggest fish or the roundest or the best colored fish? 5 And will the fry look like one the parents when they're full grown? Or a mix between them?And lastly, I was reading about having to check your fry and euthanize the ones that have " poor genes" or are " anatomically incorrect" and 6 I was wondering if I just let them free in the aquarium if the strongest oneswould automatically survive? ofcourse I'd have plants and stuff for them to hide in .
Whats the name of the tropical fish that has marine fish colours?
i was in a fish shop and i noticed this fish and wondered if they had accidentaly put a marine fish in a tropical tank, when i told the shop owner he said it was a tropical fish, it was silver but the trimmings and fins had glowing colours like on a marine fish, for example turquoise lips and things like that. I would like to find outabout this fish but i xan for the life of me remember its name, please help.Thank You D

2 years ago I bought a tank , it was originally made for goldfish. The size is 30x17x17. Since then I have had goldfish I have enjoyed them very well Then last year I gave my sister the goldfish they are still alive now in her own bowl I then had 2 betas one girl one boy I also enjoyed them very much sadly they all killed each other by eating each others fins Now I want to urgade to tropical fish I have a filter , gravel a heater and plastic plants . .. which beginners fish would go wellin my tank?

What tropical fish is this?
so i saw in a fish shop but there was no information about what it was and i stupidly didn't ask the staff cos it was quite busy. Its quite a small fish and they are a clear silver fish with bright blue eyes and yellow on the tips on the fins. They have normal kinds of fins but then " extra" flap type kinda things...makes it look like they are waving. The reason i want to know the name is because i want some information about them....i have a tank and an interested in getting them but i dont like just adding anything and hoping for the best. And clues would be great. Thanks

Last year i bought a 10 gallon tank 30cm in length 17 cm high and 17 cm depth. It was origanaly for goldfish, i have kept those for a long time. I have always wanted tropical fish. Here is the question Would i be able to put small tropical fish in.. instead of goldfish , and if so which fish would be best thankYOUp.s I have a filter , a heater , plastic plants though i might get real plants , gravel and a few ornaments P.SS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY KEPT 4 BETTAS THANKYOU
Tropical fish eating goldfish?
So I did a big no no and have tropical fish mixed in with my goldfish in my 75 gallon tank. One of my tropical fish has gotten big enough that it bullies the larger Goldfish. He has eaten most of the fin and tail and now just latches on and nibbles. It looks vicious to watch and I feel somewhat guilty. I don't necessary want to separate or remove the misbehaving fish but was wondering if this is common and should I accept the circle of life?I don't have another tank
